Efrain Valenzuela
Mobile Dairy Manager and Instructor

Resides in Los Angeles, CA
Efrain has a degree from Cal Poly Pomona, where he majored in Animal Science.

When Efrain has free time, his favorite thing to do is to read a good book.

The hobbies and clubs Efrain is involved with are photography, scuba diving, hiking and walking the dogs.

Efrain’s favorite part of his job: He gets to introduce cows to inner-city kids.

Efrain’s least favorite part of his job: Getting stuck in traffic.

Warren Jeffery Byers
Mobile Dairy Instructor

Resides in Aptos, CA
Jeff attended UC Santa Barbara and has a B.A. in Environmental History and an M.A. in Psychology.

When Jeff has free time, his favorite thing to do is spending time with friends and family. He also enjoys exercise, playing music and reading.

The hobbies and clubs Jeff is involved with are swimming, surfing and bicycling. Jeff also plays in a gospel jazz band at his church and a jazz and concert band at Cabrillo College.

Jeff’s favorite part of his job: The young students with all their energy and the dairy animals.

Jeff’s least favorite part of his job: Longs hours and a lot of driving.

Jeff’s Mobile Dairy cow and calves come from:

  • Moon Glow Dairy, Moss Landing, CA near Monterey.

The cow and calves Jeff uses are Holsteins; the cow is Electron but Jeff calls her Ellie. She weighs around 1,800 pounds and is 6 years old.


Mishael Tarbell
Mobile Dairy Instructor

Resides in Tulare, CA
Mishael has a degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where she majored in Animal Science with an emphasis in Equine Science.

Mishael's favorite thing to do in her free time is photography.

The hobbies and clubs Mishael is involved with are spending time with her horses and dog, riding her motorcycle, snow/wakeboarding, going swimming, dancing, photography and reading.

Mishael’s favorite parts of her job are being outdoors, being around animals and being able to give children an experience they have not likely had an opportunity to participate in before.

Mishael’s least favorite part of her job: She really can’t think of anything!

The type of cow Mishael uses:

  • A 4-year-old Jersey cow, approximately 1,000 lbs.


Kimberly Lopez
Mobile Dairy Instructor

Resides in Anaheim, CA
Kim has a degree from Cal Poly Pomona, where she majored in Food Marketing and Agribusiness Management.

When Kim has free time, her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family. She loves being outdoors.

The hobbies and clubs Kim is involved with are taking care of her 1-year-old son and learning how to quilt.

Kim’s favorite part of her job: Working with the cows and children and being outdoors.

Kim’s least favorite part of her job: Driving in traffic.

The type of cow Kim uses:

  • A black-and-white Holstein approximately 2 ½ years old, weighing about 1,500 pounds, and her name is Betsy.


Steven Miller
Mobile Dairy Instructor

Resides in Ladera Ranch, CA
Steve has a degree from Cal Poly Pomona, where he majored in Agriculture Education.

When Steve has free time, his favorite things to do are going to the movies and watching Oklahoma Sooner football.

The hobbies and clubs Steve is involved with are raising crossbred sheep and purebred Old English Babydoll Sheep; judging livestock at county fairs and jackpot shows; and conducting livestock project seminars for 4-H and FFA students.

Steve’s favorite part of his job: He works with a new group of students every day, and he gets to work outside.

Steve’s least favorite part of his job: RAIN!!!!

Steve’s Mobile Dairy cows and calves come from:

  • Duhalde Dairy and Valley Livestock in Chino, CA
  • Bullfrog Dairy in El Centro, CA

The types of cows Steve uses:

  • A purebred Holstein cow, 2 years old and approximately 1,200 pounds named Jackie
  • Cecil is a purebred Holstein bull calf, born 9/24/08, weight as of 11/11/08 135 pounds.
